Is The Procedure Painful?

Dapper SMP, Inc's. technicians are aware that each client's pain threshold is different. However, the pain is very minimal and the procedure is much less agonizing than regular tattoos. Once your session has been completed, you won't experience any further discomfort.

Does Scalp Micropigmentation Contrast Well With Gray Hair?

Scalp Micropigmentation is done in shades of gray, as all hair leaves the scalp in shades of ash. White-haired clients love that the gray shades give them depth to hair that has gone invisible, or to achieve that “salt and pepper” look. All pigment fades in time, so a younger person who starts out a bit darker, has the option as they turn gray or white to go back in and touch up with lighter tones. Also, when hair is shaved or buzzed low, gray hair does not appear as gray because the hair root itself is darker. Hair only shows gray as it gets longer. We use a gray-scale pigment that can be adjusted in shade to blend with lighter hair tones. We simply create a lighter dilution for blending into the existing gray hairs.

If I Have a Lighter Skin Tone, Will The Procedure Still Look Good?

Indeed! We can coordinate the shade of our color to a wide scope of skin tones. Whether you are Caucasian, have a dark-skin tone, Hispanic, Asian, or Pacific Islander, scalp micropigmentation can work for you.

What Type of Equipment is Used in The SMP Procedure?

The equipment used for a scalp treatment is considered micropigmentation or “permanent cosmetic” equipment. There are many different brands and designs and equipment includes a digital power source, a hand-piece, and a disposable micro needles for the insertion of pigment. Most technicians of Scalp Micropigmentation use different equipment than standard tattoo artists to ensure the deposits are delicately placed at the appropriate depth in the skin.

Can I Continue to Use Propecia or Rogaine Post Procedure?

Clients can continue using Propecia during and after their scalp pigmentation procedure. Rogaine (topical minoxidil) should be suspended during the course of treatment and for 30 days post your final session. This is to ensure the proper healing and settling of pigment without interference of the chemicals found in Rogaine foam.

Can I Wear a Hat After my Procedure?

Yes. The scalp may be a bit reddish for 12-24 hours post session, so we recommend wearing a hat after treatment if you wish to conceal the redness.
